Martin High School officially open the new Humanities block

The new two-storey classroom block will offer great benefits to learners by providing bespoke learning spaces, primarily creating a Humanities hub in one place for the school.

On the 31st October 2022 Martin High officially opened their new Humanities block, which has provided the school with a much-needed hub for Humanities subjects.

Replacing an old, pre-fabricated block of classrooms, the new modular six-classroom block includes a specialist technology-rich IT classroom as well as five other inviting classrooms which are all fitted with Smartboards, making learning more engaging for students.

Eager to start teaching in the new block, Luke Creissen, Head of Humanities at Martin High, said:

"I'm delighted that our new facility is open for learners. This state-of-the-art building will provide a fantastic learning environment when teaching Geography, History and Religious Studies across all year groups. Staff in the Humanities department can't wait to start teaching lessons in it and we know it’ll be a big hit with learners too."

Associate Principal, Nina Smith, added: “Our thanks go out to the Estates and Projects team at Lionheart Educational Trust who have worked with Martin High School leadership to create this space for our learners, and the main contractors Wernick Buildings and Surveyors to Education, to ensure this build was not only delivered on time, but also went from concept to reality.”
