Martin High has a strong community ethos where each learner is part of a caring school community. What this means is that learners are able to access layers of support for both their academic and pastoral needs. We recognise that starting a new school can be both exciting and a little daunting but our transition programme ensures that learners feel confident in their school environment at the start of the academic year.
You have an exciting journey ahead of you with a wide range of opportunities available to help you grow and develop not just in the classroom, but also as part of our wider school community. If you approach every task with a positive attitude and determination, you will really enjoy being part of our Year 7 team.
AT OUR SCHOOL... we believe with A PROUDER WAY learners can achieve anything. Through promoting the values expressed here our young people not only succeed academically but also socially, spiritually and culturally.
We pride ourselves in knowing every individual; which helps to ensure that everyone is successful and happy during their time at MHS. Here at MHS we want your five years with us to be challenging, exciting and filled with achievement. We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into our school.
We are constantly looking to review and improve our parent-teacher communication and collaboration at the Martin High School. We truly believe that we can make the difference to your child’s progress by working closely together with you as a parent or carer.
At the Martin High School we try to keep parents, pupils and anyone interested in the school well informed. We hope you find everything you need.

Pupil Premium is allocated to students from low-income families who are eligible for free school meals or have received free school meals at any point over the last six years.
Children that have been placed in the care of the local authority and services children are also eligible for this funding.
The Year 7 Catch up Premium is allocated to students who did not achieve a level 4 in either Maths or English at the end of Key Stage 2. The funding received for these students should be spent on improving their Maths and English grades and to close the gap with other students in their year group.
