Proud GCSE Achievements at Martin High

Martin High School is celebrating a standout year of GCSE success with students achieving a particularly impressive milestone in the government’s Ebacc measure!

In 2025, Martin High School's Ebacc pass rate was 11% higher than the national average—an achievement that reflects the strength of teaching and learning across English, Maths, Sciences, Humanities, and Modern Foreign Languages.

With BBC Radio Leicester capturing the excitement on site, it’s clear that this year’s results are something truly special.

This year’s results reflect a strong collective performance across the board. The average grade achieved by students has risen again, with notable improvements in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. The school’s Attainment 8 score continues to climb, showcasing the consistent academic progress made by students year after year.

Among the many individual stories was Ksenija, who earned six grade 9s, three grade 8s and a Level 2 Distinction*. She now plans to study English Literature, Sociology and Fine Art at WQE, where she hopes to explore her academic and creative passions further.

Lucas also impressed, securing three 9s, two 8s, three 7s and two 6s. He will be heading to college to study Maths, Economics and Accounting, with a clear focus on building a future in finance and business.

Ethan – who achieved two 7s, three 6s, two 5s and a D2 – is now preparing to study Criminology, Psychology and Law, while Jude will embark upon a Level 2 Electrician course having achieved one 6, two 5s, five 4s and a Level 1 Distinction.

Associate Principal, Nina Smith, said:
“Results day is a culmination of years of hard work—not just for pupils, but for families and staff too.

“It has been another summer of success for our Year 11 pupils at Martin High School, who celebrated their GCSE results today, where the average grade achieved by pupils has increased again on last year.

“While we’re celebrating the young people who have achieved outstanding results, we’re also recognising the pupils who have defied incredible odds to gain passes in subjects that mean the most to them. Seeing pupils walk out with a sense of direction and hope makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

We’re immensely proud of our students for the commitment they’ve shown throughout the year and wish them all the best as they depart Martin High and take the next steps on their educational journey.
