Year 7 Learners Explore the Outdoors at Conkers
Our new Year 7 learners recently spent two exciting days at Conkers, taking part in a range of outdoor activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and new friendships. The trip gave pupils the chance to try canoeing, tackle obstacle courses and learn survival skills through bushcraft. They built shelters, learned how to light fires safely and ended the day toasting marshmallows around the flames.
Alongside the physical challenges, the experience helped learners connect with their peers and teachers in a relaxed, open setting. Working together, solving problems and encouraging one another helped strengthen relationships and made the trip a valuable part of their transition into secondary school.
There was plenty of laughter and determination throughout, and it was brilliant to see pupils stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing the adventure.
We’re proud of how our Year 7s represented Martin High and made the most of every opportunity. It was a memorable start to the year and a great way to build strong foundations for the months ahead.
