Martin High Celebrates GCSE Achievement

We’ve been celebrating at Martin High School this morning, as our Year 11 students received a brilliant set of GCSE results.

Alongside strong outcomes across the year group - the strongest results the school has seen - a number of students achieved exceptional grades and are now preparing for a wide range of exciting post‑16 pathways.

Jennifer and Ria each secured eight grade 9s and two grade 8s, with both progressing to sixth form. Jennifer plans to study Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology with aspirations of becoming a dentist, while Ria will study English Literature, History, Politics and Chemistry before pursuing a career in Law.

Elsewhere, Hannah achieved six grade 9s, two Level 2 Distinction*s and two grade 8s and was recognised by OCR as one of the highest-performing students nationally in CNAT Health and Social Care. Abigail celebrated six grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7 and will go on to study Economics, Mathematics, Law and Geography.

There were also excellent stories of progress. Harley achieved a Progress 8 score of +2.29 and is progressing to college to study Media, Computer Science and Psychology, while Lin achieved a Progress 8 score of +3.05 and will continue with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at college.

Executive Principal, Laura Sanchez and Associate Principal, Mike Gamble said: "We could not be prouder of our Year 11 learners.  With the best results we have ever had it is a testament to their hard work and their commitment to their studies.

"It has been a morning of celebration and success and would like to thank all our learners, our staff and our parents and carers for working in partnership to secure these successes.

"We wish them all the very best for their bright futures."
