Martin High Celebrates Community Captain Award

We were delighted to host a special presentation at Martin High School recently, as Cory, who works with our students through Leicester City in the Community, was awarded the title of Community Captain for the 2025/26 season. The award is part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign which recognises individuals who make a meaningful difference in their communities.

The presentation took place during one of our girls football sessions and was organised as a surprise for Cory. While he was delivering coaching to the group, Filbert Fox and Associate Principal Nina Smith arrived to present him with the award. The moment was met with excitement from both staff and students who were thrilled to see Cory recognised for the fantastic work he delivers here at Martin High.

Cory has played a significant role in supporting our students through Leicester City in the Community’s programmes. His sessions help develop confidence, teamwork and physical activity among students, and his positive impact is felt widely across the school. Being named a Community Captain celebrates the value he brings to young people, not only through football but also through the encouragement, guidance and motivation he provides each week.

We are incredibly proud that such an important recognition took place here at Martin High and pleased that our students could share the moment with him. Cory’s award not only reflects his dedication but also strengthens the partnership between the school and Leicester City in the Community.
