EKO STEMbotics Workshop Inspires Year 8 Learners

Our school was buzzing with excitement as Year 8 learners took part in a Intermediate STEMbotics Workshop, giving students a hands-on introduction to robotics and coding.

Working with a Hyett Education delivery expert and a STEM Ambassador on behalf of EKO, learners began by building robots, following clear instructions before moving on to design their own imaginative models.

They then explored programming, learning how algorithms work and writing simple programs to make their robots move and respond using sensors. Alongside this, they discovered how gears, pulleys and levers play a vital role in creating functional designs. It encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and creativity, all essential skills for future innovators.

Our enthusiastic young scientists asked questions, observed closely and used enquiry skills to solve real-world problems. Visitors praised them for being respectful, engaged and showing excellent learning behaviours.

We are proud of how positively our students embraced this opportunity and look forward to seeing how they build on these experiences in the future.
