AT OUR SCHOOL... we believe with A PROUDER WAY learners can achieve anything. Through promoting the values expressed here our young people not only succeed academically but also socially, spiritually and culturally.
Martin High has a strong community ethos where each learner is part of a caring school community. What this means is that learners are able to access layers of support for both their academic and pastoral needs. We recognise that starting a new school can be both exciting and a little daunting but our transition programme ensures that learners feel confident in their school environment at the start of the academic year.
We pride ourselves in knowing every individual; which helps to ensure that everyone is successful and happy during their time at MHS. Central to our beliefs as a school, every learner has the right to good quality teaching; an aspirational environment, educational opportunities and a close knit school community here a sense of ‘real’ belonging leads to everyone achieving. Here at MHS we want your five years with us to be challenging, exciting and filled with achievement. We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into our school.
We are constantly looking to review and improve our parent-teacher communication and collaboration at the Martin High School. We truly believe that we can make the difference to your child’s progress by working closely together with you as a parent or carer.
At the Martin High School we try to keep parents, pupils and anyone interested in the school well informed. We hope you find everything you need.
We are an 11-16 Academy, offering an exciting and inspiring curriculum to all our learners. In Year 11 all students will need to think about what they want to do after their GCSEs.
They must consider if they want to continue in full time education (A Levels or college courses), apply for an apprenticeship or look for work and training. Starting at the end of year 10 students will be given support to help them make informed decisions.
T Levels are new courses coming in September 2020, which will follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to 3 A Levels. Read more here.
All students from Y10 will be encouraged to use a programme called KUDOS. This is a careers resource, that Beauchamp College subscribes to, which allows students to find out about careers based on their interests and skills.
All students will be given access to KUDOS with a personal username and password. (Students can also request this from the SSC or the careers office.)
